Our Story
We, the Pine State Pitches, are an a cappella group based out of Portland, Maine. We were founded on our collective need for community and music after the isolation brought on by the pandemic in 2020. We spent many months of rehearsals simply singing for ourselves and had our first performance under the Christmas lights in downtown Portland in December 2021.

We have now performed at multiple locations including The Hill Arts, Blue, Après, and busked throughout downtown Portland during holidays and Pride.
We are excited to continue sharing our love for music and see where we go next.
If you are interested in having us sing at an event with you please reach out.
We can't wait to sing for you!

I co-founded Pine State Pitches with my friend, and fellow group member, Lauren Abrami! We both were missing music in our lives during the pandemic and both having a love of acapella music wanted to start a local group. It's been an amazing 3 years so far and this group has really made me grow as both a director and singer. I feel so grateful to have had the chance to get to know these wonderful people and have them now in my life. Thank you PSP!

Why did you join PSP?
I co-founded the group with our Music Director, Rachel Lawson, because I hadn't sung in an a capella group since high school and I deeply missed this form of singing. After the pandemic, Rachel and I formed this group to bring together a group of people who loved this form of music as much as we did and to be part of a community of passionate, incredible singers.
