Hello and welcome to our last newsletter of 2024! I hope you enjoyed the holidays with loved ones. I got to spend Christmas with three of my adorable nephews, building Legos and listening to a song about flushing the toilet, which happens to be their favorite at the moment. Should the Pine State Pitches learn it for our next concert??
What a month it’s been - we spent most of December preparing for two shows. First up, we enjoyed a frosty performance at L.L.Bean in Freeport, where we sang outside next to the Bean Boot. It was the coldest day of the season so far, and also one of the busiest shopping days for L.L.Bean, and we had the pleasure of brightening the moods of bustling shoppers rushing to find their final holiday gifts.

Now that we are done practicing Christmas songs, we can turn our full attention to preparing for our upcoming concerts with Women in Harmony on January 17th and 18th. You will hear some of our favorite songs like “What Happens When a Woman” and “Falter,” along with new songs we’ve been working on, including “Ain’t No Mountain” and “For Good.” It is such a joy to sing with Women in Harmony. They are an incredibly talented and fun group, and we immediately blended well together at our first rehearsal - it was like we had been singing together for years! We cannot wait for you to hear us together. You can find more info about the concerts and buy tickets at https://wihmaine.org/concerts/changes/.

As this year comes to a close, I cannot help but think about everyone who has supported us in 2024. So many of you came to our concerts, even in freezing conditions, and we are the luckiest pitches to have such wonderful family, friends, and fans. This fall marks three years since our little group formed, and we have been through so much together since then. We have sung our hearts out on cold, snowy afternoons, in loud distilleries, outside by the sea, in backyards, and even went viral on social media. We have celebrated engagements, marriages, and births, helped each other move to new homes, and cheered each other on in performances outside our a cappella group. We’ve said goodbye to members and welcomed new ones. We’ve suffered through more illnesses than we can count. And through it all, you have been there cheering us on.

We’d like to thank you for your support once again this year, and we hope to see you at more shows in 2025! Until then, stay warm and safe and have a very happy new year!
